"At any point in time the Department of Social Services (DSS) is working with from 100 to 150 children in foster care. Since DSS investigates about 100 cases per month that number can rise at any time. There are also families receiving long term in home services. Those are the children and families that WAVES 4 K.I.D.S. serves."

Public Funds are not always available to pay for the Support Services that DSS would like to provide. That's where WAVES 4 K.I.D.S. steps in to help.

Meeting those unmet needs is in addition to the four major initiatives that WAVES 4 K.I.D.S. manages and supports

  • Camp tuitions

  • Car seats

  •  Clothing

  •  Daycare registration fees

  •  Diapers

  •  Formula

  •  Medical and therapeutic devices

  •  Money in the form of gift cards for special needs

  •  Pack & Plays

  •  Parental assistance

  •  Pest control

  •  Sports equipment

  •  Therapeutic activities not covered by Medicaid

  •  Tutoring
